About the Artist
I studied Fine Art in Liverpool and on completion of my degree I secured a lecturing post in Further Education.I spent the next 38 years teaching and managing in the sector. My career and family left very little time for painting, so I was really looking forward to having the time to take it up seriously once again when I retired. Unfortunately I didn’t find it as easy as I thought, so I was delighted to learn that Joe McGillivray was initiating weekly sessions at West Kirby Arts Centre. I joined the group in 2016 and am thoroughly enjoying experimenting with different media and furthering my ideas and skills with support from Joe and other members of the group. My work is mostly figurative, last year it was almost exclusively working with the life model, but more recently I have begun to explore different subject matter.
