Classes are taught by Joe McGillivray who has been teaching at degree level in Art Schools for over 30 years.
Joe was previously Head of the Art School at Wirral Met College, and latterly Director of Higher Education and Arts. Joe was a graduate of Manchester Art School and was a post graduate student at the Royal Academy of Art, London.
Joe has won prizes for his drawings and paintings and his work is in public and private collections both nationally and internationally.
1 - 3pm - Painting Challenge
This is a course that requires a painterly response to pictorial challenges. The course will be run over 4 x 3 week blocks each presenting different artistic propositions to students.
4 - 6pm - Portrait and Figure Drawing and Painting
This course is about acquiring and developing traditional drawing and painting techniques to capture a likeness or attitude of the figure.
1 - 3pm - Painting Techniques and Ideas
A course that will produce art work in response to specific projects, moving to more individually inspired paintings and drawings later in the year.
4 - 6pm - Still Life Drawing and Painting
An introductory course about drawing and painting that focusses on practising representational drawing and painting skills.
