Update work produced since Christmas

Here are some photos of work produced since Christmas from the classes attended by West Kirby Art Group.

The Painting Challenge Group have been working on two projects; ‘Transcription ‘ and ‘Interior with Figure’. The aim of the projects is to stimulate ideas and to share critical thinking.

Here are some photos of work produced since Christmas from the classes attended by West Kirby Art Group.

The Painting Challenge Group have been working on two projects; ‘Transcription ‘ and ‘Interior with Figure’. The aim of the projects is to stimulate ideas and to share critical thinking.

Members of the portrait and figure drawing classes have been working individually to develop their skills and general understanding of the figure.

The still life group have looked at colour and light via two still life set ups - one focusing on ideas around a memento mori and the second looking at the idea of ‘spring’ via gardening tools and implements.

Each week the group also look at art in general through an eclectic mix of connection puzzles. For example, what is the connection between Salma Hayek Diego Rivera and Leon Trotsky? The purpose is to stimulate discussion and the ‘search’ rather than the answer!
