Room with a View

As our painting challenge is a Room with a View, I’ve added a lovely painting by Matisse that fits in with our theme. I like the composition and the way that it has been so simply painted.

I’ve added a wonderful painting by the Soviet artist Isaak Brodsky ‘Fallen Leaves,‘ oil on canvas, 1915 to inspire us! The autumnal light is depicted exceptionally well, and it’s painted in quite an impressionistic style. The dramatic interior darks set off the bright interior and exterior light colours - framed within the doorway and the darker extended tree branches.
